Founders Day: January 28th

  • Although 2014 marks the 146th year of our esteemed university’s discovery, we celebrated our 121st annual founder’s day.
  • Following service, several chapter members enjoyed brunch together at Mimi’s Café.

Hampton University Concert Choir, Date TBD

  • Having the distinct opportunity to enable the HU concert choir to include the city of Charlotte in its tour, would provide significant cultural enrichment to many members of the Charlotte community. The March 2014 regional tour was postponed by the choir.

Day of Service – Save the Date – March 29th (9 am – 11:30 am)

  • Nearly 15-20 chapter members came out to volunteer and sort food at the Food Bank
  • The organization greatly appreciated the efforts of our Chapter, which went a long way toward helping provide an invaluable service for needy Charlotte residents.

High School Day at Hampton University, Friday, April 4th (Moratorium)

  • Last April, our Charlotte Chapter partnered with the Atlanta Alumni Chapter to promote the event and charter a bus to Hampton University. Alongside members of the Atlanta Chapter, Tosha Wesley and Terry Logan chaperoned and transported 40 students and parents to High school day at Hampton.
  • Chapter observed a one-year moratorium in honor of the Watson family

Belk Spring Charity Sale (Fundraiser) May 3rd

  • Looking for opportunities to increase sales during the next sale, Fall 2014.

HU Picnic/BBQ: June 7th

  • Picnic took place on Lake Norman, at Ramsey Creek Park
  • Nearly 60-70 chapter members and prospective students enjoyed BBQ, great desserts and great company
  • Eight area students participated in the event and were able to meet and greet other area students as well as enjoy games and gifts from our chapter.
  • The chapter thanks everyone who made cash donation to our scholarship fund!
