HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University women’s basketball team, in search of its sixth straight conference championship, released its 2014-15 schedule on Thursday, a slate that includes 11 home games – three in non-conference play.

The Lady Pirates went 28-5 last season, going undefeated in the MEAC for the second straight year before making their fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Head coach David Six, entering his sixth season, has 127 career wins, tying him for the program Div. I record.

Hampton will open the season with three road games, starting with a trip to Evanston, Ill. on Nov. 16 to take on Northwestern. From there, the Lady Pirates will take on Quinnipiac on Nov. 18 in Camden, Conn. and Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan. on Nov. 21.

The Lady Pirates’ first home game will be on Nov. 25 against Washington State from the Pac-12.

On Dec. 2, the Lady Pirates will be in Bethlehem, Pa. to take on Lehigh, before heading to Philadelphia on Dec. 5 to face Penn. Hampton will then be in Richmond, Va. on Dec. 6 to take on the Spiders.

Hampton’s MEAC opener will be on Dec. 8, when the Lady Pirates play host to Morgan State.

Perennial SEC contender South Carolina will visit the Convocation Center on Dec. 17, before the Lady Pirates head to Harrisonburg, Va. on Dec. 20 to take on James Madison. From there, Hampton will head to Chicago, Ill. to face DePaul on Dec. 22.

After Christmas, the Lady Pirates will be in Miami, Fla. for the Florida International Tournament on Dec. 29-30. Hampton will then return home on Jan. 5 for its non-conference finale against Princeton.

In all, the Lady Pirates will face five schools from the so-called “power conferences.” In Six’s tenure, the Lady Pirates are 8-12 against such schools (from the ACC, BIG EAST, Big Ten, Big XII, Pac-12, and SEC) – including wins over Kansas State and Virginia Tech last season.

The bulk of Hampton’s MEAC schedule will begin in Florida; the Lady Pirates will take on Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach, Fla. on Jan. 10, before heading to Tallahassee, Fla. on Jan. 12 to take on Florida A&M.

On Jan. 17, the Lady Pirates will face North Carolina A&T at home, before playing host to North Carolina Central on Jan. 19 in the first meeting between the two teams since 2013.

Hampton will then have three straight games on the road, starting with a meeting with Savannah State in Savannah, Ga. on Jan. 24. From there, the Lady Pirates will be in Orangeburg, S.C. on Jan. 26 to take on South Carolina State, before taking on rival Norfolk State in Echols Hall on Jan. 31.
